If you are perusing this, you most likely already know why you should move to the Carolinas.Well, it’s our opportunity to inform you some of the reasons we like the Carolinas.

A few of our finest Carolina attractions are given below. The abundance of nature, history and life is one of our principal reasons for why we love South Carolina and North Carolina. Pulled pork is the traditional barbecue of North Carolina. It is

perhaps the oldest form of barbecue in the United States. The sauce

used in the eastern style of North Carolina pulled pork contains no

tomatoes. It is descended from the “English ketchup” used in

colonial America: a vinegar-based concoction with spices. English

ketchup was sometimes made from fish brine, and mushrooms were

sometimes used as well–but no tomatoes. It is believed by some

that in the 1600’s and 1700’s tomatoes were thought to be

poisonous. In any case, today we use the vinegar and the spices,

but no fish brine and no mushrooms–and still no tomatoes! This is

an easy (not technically a barbecue) version that requires no fancy smoking or grilling. Just

use your stove and oven!

Given the tradition of college basketball in North Carolina, it is often difficult to keep in mind the season ends in March. When it is over, you should spend some time in the beauty of the state by visiting the various campgrounds in North Carolina.

Campgrounds in North Carolina

The southeastern state of North Carolina is rich in history and great camping spots. Being one of the thirteen former British colonies of the United States, campgrounds in North Carolina offer a great way to experience what the original colonists much have run into when they first settled in the area.

Summer brings with it warmth and high humidity. The season also offers the opportunity for heat weary folks to escape to the mountains or beaches for a well deserved rest. In North Carolina, there are several beach destinations worth visiting; nine top sites are featured here.

1. The Outer Banks — Perhaps the most well known of all the beaches in the Carolinas, the Outer Banks offers much history as well as attractive beaches. You can visit the spot where the Wright Brothers first took flight in Kill Devil Hills as well as the first European settlement on Roanoke Island.

For some time now the city of Jacksonville NC with its population of 72,000 has been drawing national attention for a number of reasons. It was back in 1992 when Jacksonville was named an “All-American City” by the national civic league that got things started but that was just the beginning.

A Safe Port in the National Storm

It was the general national decline in real estate and home values in recent years that once again has shown a light on Jacksonville. Not for declining home prices though, but rather due to its overall ability to withstand the financial storm that has ravaged the rest of the nation as a whole.

The fact, is that Camp Le Jeune is a marine base, is therefor government owned, so it is impossible to buy real estate on it. However the good news is that Camp Le Jeune itself is centrally located in some of the most prime real estate markets in the entire U.S.

Piney Green is but one of the many towns and communities that surround the Camp Le Jeune Marine base in Onslow County North Carolina. This is a unique region of the country for several reasons and some of these reasons the marine base has a lot to do with.

A Unique Economy

For instance, while most other areas of the U.S have been left staggering from the effects of the most recent economic downturn, Piney Green seems to be almost immune to it. This is due in a large part to the marine base and the many civilian jobs in the community that it supports both on and around the base.
